Most people hear the word ‘proposal’ and think of candlelight dinners, diamond rings, and the answer YES.

Writers are different. When we hear the word ‘proposal,’ we experience a mix of euphoria and panic. When I attended my first Oregon Christian Writers summer conference, I pitched my novel to a potential acquisitions editor. He said, “Send me a proposal.” Euphoria. Panic. Back to euphoria. But mostly panic.

October 2019: Oregon Christian Writers Fall Conference
Important elements to include in your book proposal.

Check out the speaker lineup…

Any writer who has had to write a proposal knows how difficult it is to take a ninety-thousand-word book and make it sound like the next War Room.

I’ll be leading a workshop on October 12, 2019 at the OCW one-day conference. We’ll break down the most important elements of both a fiction and nonfiction proposal. I’ll show how to determine the spiritual element of your book and why it’s important to include. We’ll look at how to describe similar books and why yours is better. ?

I want to turn your panic into euphoria when you hear the words “Send me a proposal.” You’ll be poised and ready to push SEND.
